The Casting Issues Studios Sometime Have: (Will ‘Twinklight’ By Afton Nills Ever Get To A DVD?)

Following the announcement Afton blogged that the script was being rewritten and “Philippe Delvaux is still on board as the lead vampire. Levon Meeks, Kaiden Ertelle, Chase Harding, Lucas Sky and Shane Frost will also be appearing in the film”.

I’m always all ears and eyes (and hand for that matter) when I see something presented by Afton Nills, to me he and Keith Miller at Helix are the masters of “twinking it up” big time. Afton Nills is the Producer and Director for Xtreme Productions, 1R Media, Lycan Films and Sin City Twinks. The finest in hardcore twink videos.

This month a similar video entitled, TwinkBlood released in co-opt with BoyCrush.com and SaggerszSkaterz Studios featuring Chase Harding on the cover.

Today and Sunday Afton Nills gave an update on his blog about the video production naming Jeremy Sommers as one of the leading roles.

“I’m happy to announce that the very cute, Jeremy Sommers will be taking one of the lead parts in Twinklight. Jeremy has done some work with me over the past months and has shown great ability to act and perform. Not only is he a great performer, but he’s very fun to work with. He’s a great addition to this film.”

A More Detailed Update On Sunday By Afton reveals:

“Okay so a lot of people have been asking me what is up lately. What I’ve been up to, etc.Twinklight is to bring the industry and audience something they’ve never seen before. Not just the idea of vampire twinks, which I came up with years ago, but how the sex is filmed, how the actors act, the sets they work in, the sound track, etc. I want to give you a great story that you want to watch from start to finish. Give you some of the most erotic, best action you’ve seen from me. And for that to happen, it all needs to be properly prepared before I hit record on the camera. The quality of this film will be unlike anything I’ve ever shot and I’m extremely confident the work will stand on it’s own. I’ve been in touch with some great musical artists so the music and soundtrack flow perfectly with the theme of the film. There’s so many goodies I have planned and lots to be excited about, so hang in there a little while longer and I promise you won’t be disappointed with what I release in the coming months.

Some of you may have known I was in Europe on vacation for awhile, which I’m back from. I had a blast, I really enjoyed Germany almost didn’t want to come home, lol. I really encourage everyone to at sometime in their lifetime go check out Germany if not more. It has so much history and the people were incredible.

People keep asking me about this Twink Blood film. I’ve been getting some anonymous comments on my blog that I’ve been out done, beat to the punch, etc. Ugh. Did the producers get the idea from me? I don’t know I’m not in touch with the producers of Twink Blood. It doesn’t really matter where the idea came from or who’s the first at releasing something, at least from my point of view. I didn’t come up with the ideas for my films to be the first at releasing them. That wasn’t my intent behind their creation. I can say their film has nothing to do with me or mine. I wish them the best with their release.

I’ve always been fascinated with vampires and found them to be very homoerotic. I felt the mix of a great vampire story and hot sex would make the perfect combination for one of my features. This is something I’ve been thinking up for quite a long time now, I’m just not in a rush to release something just so I can be the first to release it. It’s important that my film has the right actors involved, the right crew, right locations, storyline, etc. It’s full conceptualization has been in the works for the past three months now. And this will show when you pick up your copy.

My intention with

I’ve reworked the cast a bit. Cast some new actors, which I feel will add greatly to the film. A newcomer I worked with on my last shoot whom I’ve very fond of, Cameron and Krys who was also in during my last shoot. Both very talented, hot twinks that I’m eager to work with again. There are many other actors that will be in this film and will be releasing a full cast press release soon. Some of the details I’m keeping to myself until the film goes to print. I don’t want to reveal everything.

So again, hang in there. The wait is worth it and I’m extremely excited to start filming next month. As far as a release date, I don’t have that for you right now but am working hard to make sure it’s released before the end of the year. There’s a lot more steps involved with this particular film, so the time table is a bit different from my prior releases.”

THE RECENT CHASE HARDING INTERVIEW

Dewayne in San Diego recent interviewed Chase Harding and asked Chase:

DeWayne: Any lame or bad experiences in Porn? (Touch on Afton if you want) Anyone who has not been professional?

Chase Harding: “Well I’m sure you have heard about my run in with Afton Nills, if you have or haven’t Ill be glad to put all the rumors to rest and tell you what really happened. I met with Afton Nills when I got word of a film he was looking to produce called Twinklight based of the well known Twilight Movie.

I loved that movie and thought that it would make a very interesting porn movie and I wanted to be apart of that. I became good friends with Afton and he continued to feed me all these grand stories of how the movie was going to be filmed and the cover art etc which all included me as one of the main characters in the movie.

We attended the GayVN Awards together and upon our return things started to go downhill in many respects. I started getting the feeling the movie was never going to be filmed and our relationship started to part ways. He brought me in to film with a guy I was dating off and on and the scene did not go as planned I was a little sick and I just honestly did not feel comfortable in the situation that I was in, so the scene was pretty much cancelled and thats when we all went our separate ways.

A few months later Afton approached me asking if I still wanted to be part of the movie, I decided to give it a second chance. I then found out that I was no longer a main character and that I would have one scene at 500 dollars and no picture on the cover at all. I tried to reason with him which ended up with me telling him that I was not going to be apart of it since he didn’t want to work something out.

I then took to my blog and announced that I would not be in the film because I felt Afton did not pay enough per scene nor respect his models and I got attacked by Afton thru his blog saying that I should accept that $500 is reasonable [ED INSERT,uh in what country Lower Slobonia?] and that I should not demand to be on the cover, which I never did I only asked to be since that was the original plan.

Afton continued to blog about the incident of the scene being cancelled and tried to call me out about not getting hard during the shoot. I would like to say the reason why I was not hard was because I did not feel comfortable in the situation and I also did not like the fact that as nice as it may have seemed. Aftons second camera man John was playing the daddy card towards me a little to much.

This is where I feel  professionalism comes in Porn, a model shouldn’t have to deal with people like that on set they should feel comfortable and the shoot should be fun. Well I believe thats all for now haha I just really wanted to get that off my shoulders and Id say I got my revenge I guess you could say by being on the cover and the lead of the new Vampire movie soon to be released called TwinkBlood by Boycrush.”

We contacted Afton Nills this evening and asked him what his take on the issue with Chase Harding and also asked him to give us more insight and here is Afton’s response:

Thanks for the email. I too just saw the hilarious post of rejected actors for the movie. People never cease to amaze me in this industry, but I do get a kick of out if.
 
 
Chase Harding and I had a few different issues surrounding his role in the film. He was originally cast for the role at an already agreed upon rate. He decided to get himself an agent a few months down the line, in which case they wanted to re-negotiate his pay rate and insisted that he be placed on the box cover, or he would remove himself from the project. I don’t really care to work with agents or agencies, I like to do my own casting and negotiating. I already had the box cover conceptualized, so I was unable to give Chase and his agent their request. I felt his pay that was already negotiated was just. In fact, even after the fact Chase was fine with his pay, he only wanted to be on the cover. So I don’t think this came down to pay, but a little attitude about not being on the box cover.
  
As far as the rejects poster, again hilarious. But in all fairness, sometimes cast changes need to be made. In this business so many of these younger guys get in and out so quickly. Most of the guys on that mock up are still in the film, so the mock up is inaccurate. They aren’t rejects. Philippe, Ethan, Shane, Levon are still scheduled to be in the film. Lucas is still a possibility. Maddox Johnson however, he’s no longer in porn, so he of course isn’t going to be in the film. Also so many things have changed with the script which required some role changes anyhow as I really need strong actors to give this film what I’m looking for. Pay had NOTHING to do with any of the pull outs on this film with the exception of Chase Harding, who was the ONLY actor who bailed on the film.  Of course actors want to get paid as much as possible, can’t blame them for that. But if the budget doesn’t’ allow for it, it doesn’t allow for it and somebody else will be willing to take on the role. We are not short of new talent in this industry by any means. There are many Hollywood films where actors take less pay to be part of a project, because they wanted to be part of a great project. Same applies to this project. Those involved know that the budget allows them to be paid what they’re getting and they are all fine with that because they want to be part of this great project.
 
 
I think everybody has a misconception of what my film is going to be about. I’m not putting together a gore fest. It’s not a horror film. If anybody watched the movie Twilight, they’d know that it’s a love story, not a bunch of vampires sucking the blood and splattering it all over the bodies, etc. Yes there was some twists and turns in Twilight with some vampire action, but the overall story was the love between a vampire and mortal. Twinklight is a love story, which happens to involve vampires. That’s all I really want to say about the film without giving too much away.
 
 
Are they all going to be twinks? No, I never intended the film to be 100% twinky guys. I wanted to mix jocks, older guys with the twinks. I think it makes for hotter scenes. I’m thinking outside the box with this project and I’m confident the film will stand on it’s own.
  
Everyone keeps bashing me about this because it wasn’t released right away as planned. That I’ve been beat to the punch by Twinkblood. I wish them the best with their film, I truly do. I love Andy Kay to death, have worked with him many times in the past. Their film I’m sure is great, but is completely different than what I’m going to release. I jumped the gun awhile back saying I was going to release sooner. I apologize for that. I originally had a script in place ready to go, but after some thought felt it best to give it some more time to develop. Writing a great script takes time, especially when you’re also producing content for the web and releasing two DVD’s every month. I’m only one person, can only do so much.
 
 
Twinklight hasn’t been delayed because I’m broke, which some have claimed. It isn’t because all the actors keep bailing. It hasn’t been released because so much has changed since the original conception of the film. I wanted to do things right, put the time and effort that has lacked in some of my prior features. I have always strived to get better with my films, and this time I’m going to deliver. This will be my best work yet and I really feel that it will be worth it’s wait. There’s no rush in getting this out for Halloween, it’s not a horror film. It’s the most important project in my 8 years of filming and I want it to be right from start to finish. Which includes the right cast, story, sets, music, everything that makes a great film a great film.
