Gay adult superstar Brent Corrigan has just wrapped the leading role in writer/director Tim Sullivan’s segment of the horror-comedy anthology feature film “Chillerama”.

Homage to the Drive-In movies of the 50’s and 60’s, “Chillerama” is collaboration between Sullivan and fellow filmmakers Adam Rifkin (“Detroit Rock City”), Adam Green (“Hatchet”) and Joe Lynch (“Wrong Turn 2”).

The casting of Brent Corrigan in “I Was a Teenage Werebear” seems to have created a bit of a stir, as The Huffington Post has written and termed the project as, ‘groundbreaking“, ‘controversial” and ‘newsworthy‘ as to the concept of casting within the adult entertainment industy. Read Here

“Each one of us is doing homage to a different genre and style,” explained Sullivan. “I choose the surf musicals of the 60’s crossed with “Lost Boys” and “Twilight”. As a gay man, I’ve always been drawn to the queer subtext in films depicting teenage angst, whether it be James Dean’s relationship to Sal Mineo in “Rebel Without a Cause” or Zac Efron’s emotional tug of war between sports and theater in “High School Musical.”  With our fight for equality reaching a fever pitch, I felt it was time to fully embrace the gay undertones that peppered my previous films (“2001 Maniacs”,” Field of Screams” and “Driftwood”), and this time bring them front and center.”

Entitled “I Was a Teenage Werebear” and featuring five rock and roll musical dance numbers penned by the director himself, Sullivan’s entry follows a day in the life of Ricky O’Reilly, the closeted new kid who falls for Talon; Malibu High’s mysterious bad boy. When aroused, the two transform into bestial leather daddies, the titular “Werebears”.

With Anton Troy cast as Talon and Gabby West (winner of the VH1, Sullivan-hosted reality series “Scream Queens”) cast as Ricky’s clueless girlfriend, Peggy Lou, the search was on for an actor with teen idol appeal who could sing, dance and pull off the wide range of emotions required for the leading role. Surprisingly, the search ended when Sullivan boldly cast Corrigan (credited in the film by his birth name Sean Paul Lockhart), having seen his comedic performance as “Stan the Merman” in filmmaker Todd Stephens’ cult comedy “Another Gay Sequel”.

“I knew this would make both me and my just-wrapped segment a target for those who refuse to see Sean as anything other then Brent,” acknowledged Sullivan. “But Sean is the real deal. His electrifying performance in “Werebears’ proves that. Audiences are in for a big surprise, as are those in Hollywood long reluctant to accommodate his ambition to break into the mainstream.”

Having observed the openly out Sullivan creatively suppressed by previous producers, long time friend Adam Rifkin, creator of Showtime’s controversial, hit series “LOOK” as well as fellow “Chillerama” producer (along with Green and Lynch),  fully supported Sullivan’s vision and casting.

ABOUT TIM SULLIVAN: Tim Sullivan began his career as a teenager pumping fake blood for the 80s cult horror flick The Deadly Spawn (1983). A Pennsylvania state appellate court has upheld the murder conviction and life sentence of now 29 year old, Harlow Cuadra.

Harlow Cuadra of Virginia Beach, Virgina, was seeking a new trial, alleging errors by the judge before and during his March 2009 trial in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

The Times-Leader of Wilkes-Barre reported that the Superior Court ruled Oct. 14 that the judge’s rulings were:

“well detailed and well-reasoned.”

Cuadra was convicted of first-degree murder and other offenses in the 2007 slaying of 44-year-old Bryan Kocis in his rural Dallas Township home. Investigators said Cuadra and his then 26-year-old boyfriend Joseph Kerekes killed Kocis and then set the house on fire. Kocis was the owner and producer of Cobra Video. Prosecution and police maintained the motive for the killing was centered around gay porn superstar Brent Corrigan. Cuadra and Kocis felt that by murdering Kocis, Corrigan would be able to make a video with them.

Kerekes pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December 2008 and was sentenced to life in prison.
