I’ll be really sad if this is true..Mason is one of my favorites

I think that as long as he was being safe (which from the sounds of this blog post he wasn’t, but no one knows that but him and his partners) then the question of his HIV status shouldn’t be a LARGE issue, as long as he was coming clean with his partners beforehand. But I know people that once they tell someone they have HIV, condom or not, the people want nothing to do with them. So I can also understand his hesitation if there was a lapse in judgement.

A response to @gayporngossip expose on @masonwylerxxx

So this will be the last time that I write public on this…not because I don’t want to or feel passionate about it…because there are other things in my life that need to take precedent.

@gayporngossip and @dewayneinsd are openly and formally attacking @masonwylerxxx for his personal actions. I do not necessarily agree with @masonwylerxxx personal decisions, but i do respect his privacy.

In no way shape or form should this information have been made public. I feel that @masonwylerxxx should follow the lead of Farrah Fawcett when a nurse at UCLA Med Hospital made her information public and file a lawsuit to shut down this situation permanently. I do not feel that @masonwylerxxx should be crucified on a public cross.

I have four questions for @gayporngossip and @dewayneinsd :
1. if this was done to you what would your response be?
2. if this was your family member or significant other what would your response be?
3. have you ever taken a step of your elevated pedestal and gone to visit someone who
has been infected with ANY std?
4. have you ever physically taken care of someone dying of a terminal illness whether it
it be an std, cancer, Alzheimer, or any other disease?
I can answer truthfully yes to all of the above. The fourth question being the most personal because my mother (RIP 12/23/2009) went for treatment at a hospital in S. Korea and ended up with hepatitis b.
Until you have walked a mile in @masonwylerxxx shoes maybe you should use tact and timing and remember the GOLDEN RULE:
DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU.

If you’ve ever had any type of sex, have you been tested for every known communicable disease. If not, you are knowingly possibly spreading disease by omission.

Isn’t it incredible how people so quickly judge those with HIV and yet go out and have tons of anonymous sex with people they know absolutely NOTHING about.

Isn’t it amazing that many of us who are HIV- actually feel a right to have unprotected sex at the expense of others privacy? I mean, do we really have a right to expect people on a casual sex (hookup) website to openly display their HIV status so we can then decide to have bareback sex?

If we are to run/hide when someone tells us that they are HIV+, what is the incentive for the HIV+ to disclose? You say, the law? Come on, give me a break!

Well i disagree with the comment that states that addiction is mental illness; if it were, people could be placed under compulsory treatment acts which remove them from society and place them in care situations because they’re addicted to alcohol, drugs, etc., etc. – and that doesn’t happen, and can’t happen. People must seek treatment of their own volition; it’s not a mental illness, it’s a predisposition for dependence and whatever the addiction is to is the object of that dependence and desire.

But i do agree that sexual addiction, HIV positive status and anything else like that don’t a monster make.

What would make a monster is if he were to have continued presenting himself as a safe sex partner, and have continued engaging in unprotected sex with people who were not just assuming but told he was HIV negative. As far as i can ascertain, that didn’t happen, although the image of his Adam4Adam profile does raise questions (and rightly so. When presented with only so much information, one would be stupid not to have unanswered questions. The issue, however, is not deciding what the answers are for oneself, but actively finding out what the truth is and going from there).

i also disagree with the statement that people shouldn’t have the right to expect admission of HIV status on someone’s profile if they want to have unprotected sex. The fact is, you wouldn’t get into a car with someone who held a driver’s licence but who had since suffered a decline in visual acuity – but if they didn’t tell you, you would never know until it were too late. That’s called reckless endangerment, in which the person responsible knows the risks and fails to disclose them for informed decisions to be made. Similarly, on that topic, would you go for an operation knowing that you had been told only some information about it, but not all, including the most significant risks? No, you wouldn’t. But if you were led to believe you had been told all risks, you wouldn’t refuse reasoning you didn’t have the information. If the operation went badly and you had some complication that you didn’t know you might have, you’d have every right to be upset and take legal action; if you took the risk on yourself, then it’s your responsibility. Medicine/nursing is based on that relationship; so to should this be.

i don’t advocate unprotected sex with someone you don’t know anyway, but the issue of blaming the person who consented to it without knowing their partner were HIV positive…that’s shit, plain and simple. If you want to make out like it’s not the legal responsibility of an HIV positive person to disclose their status to all who could be affected, then you’re also saying you’re willing to go and have that operation without any informed consent. After all, that’s the kind of crap you’re advocating.
