Los Angeles is home to a prolific base of gay porn production studios and a mega-hub for the straight porn business. Of recent Los Angeles has also been the center of a controversial issue of requiring condoms to be used on the set of every pornographic movie made.
The pornography industry has largely been allowed to police itself, but a recent scare over a male performer who tested HIV-positive and claimed he was infected while on a gay porn set has added new concerns and urgency to the condom issue.
Adult Video News (AVN) is reporting that in response to a demand by the Los Angeles City Council the City Attorney has delivered his report on whether the City could regulate and enforce the use of a condom in a porn production.
The City Attorney’s office seems to be saying, while it’s hypothetically feasible, it’s not going to happen.
