CCBill Increases Annual VISA Proccessing Fee to $500 For Websites Who Process Website Memberships Using VISA

On the eve of a New Years online adult merchants who process using CCBill were hit with an increase in the annual cost of processing membership charges for VISA. In a mass-email statement CCBill States:

RE: VISA Increases Annual Sponsored Merchant IPSP Renewal Fee

Dear Client-

As the processor for your website’s online VISA transactions,
we wanted to inform you that effective January 1, 2010, VISA
will increase the Annual High-Risk Sponsored Merchant
Renewal Fee
for VISA Sponsored Merchant Accounts
to $500.00 USD.

Per your “CCBill Terms and Conditions Addendum
A: Specific to Accepting U.S. VISA Card for Payment”
agreement, the increased Annual High-Risk Sponsored
Merchant Renewal Fee for your account is due to VISA
International by your VISA Registration Anniversary
Date (the anniversary of your original VISA Sponsored
Merchant Registration), of 11/15/2010.

Note: If you have your account set up to automatically
deduct your VISA Renewal Fee from your balance,
no action is required on your part.

Merchant account and renewal can be found in the
CCBill Web Admin at:

REPORTS >ACCOUNTING Tab > ACCOUNT OVERVIEW Area

VISA RENEWAL – Reports on your VISA Renewal, including:

  • Link to Credit Card Payment Form.
  • Details on sending in Certified Check or Money Order Payment.
  • Deadline for fee payment.
  • Registration anniversary date.
  • Instructions for canceling your VISA registration, if you wish to
    no longer offer VISA as a payment option to your online customers.


VISA PAYMENT HISTORY – Reports on your VISA Renewal Payment, including:

  • Renewal cycle and registration anniversary date information.
  • Certified Check or Money Order Payment: payment date, payment amount.
  • Credit Card Payment: payment date, payment amount, and payment ID.
  • Credit Details from original account signup.


ACCOUNT CHANGE FORMS – Link to the Account Change Forms Page,
with direct access to the VISA Sponsored Merchant Cancellation Form,
available in PDF format. To cancel your existing VISA Registration,
this form must be filled out, signed by the VISA Sponsor
(Principal that is registered with VISA as a sponsored merchant for this account),
and then faxed back to CCBill for our files.

Please note: if you choose to cancel your VISA Sponsored Merchant
Account you will forfeit your ability to offer your new and existing
customers the option to pay for their monthly subscription using VISA
as a payment option (this includes new sales and rebills).
This also includes the cancellation of VISA sales for all accounts
registered to this sponsor. Upon cancellation of your
VISA Sponsored Merchant Account, if you decide you would like to
return to your VISA status, you will be required to re-apply for a new
VISA Sponsored Merchant Account, and repay the $750 initial
registration fee.
