Jason Andrews, also known in the gay porn video industry as “Addison” (model for SeanCody.com), pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced in a Pasco County Flordia criminal court to life in prison last week. The murder took place in New Port Richey, Florida in 2010.

As part of a plea arrangement deal with Pasco County prosecutors to avoid the death penalty, 28-year-old Jason Andrews pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Andrews will provide truthful testimony regarding the murder at a scheduled jury trial set for his girlfriend later this year.

GayPornGossip reported on the murder and the arrests of both Andrews and his girlfriend, who too was charged in with murder.

The bisexual, British-born Andrews fled the state of Florida following the investigation of the murder and was later arrested in Chattanooga, Tennessee by U.S. Marshals  who collared him while he worked as a manager in an upscale pool hall in Chattanooga.

Andrews and his girlfriend, porn star Amanda Logue (whose porn name is “Sunny Dae”), were accused of bludgeoning 41-year-old tattoo shop owner Dennis “Scooter” Abrahamsen to death with a sledgehammer in his Tampa-area home on May 15, 2010. Police also say the pair stole more than $6,000 in cash from Abrahamsen, along with his credit cards and a video camera.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Logue will stand trial for first-degree murder. Her trial is set for May 21, 2012.

The internet address gay.xxx has been sold for $500,000, making it the most expensive domain name sold in an extension that is not yet publicly open for registration.

The deal was made as part of the Founders Program offered by .xxx operator ICM Registry. The buyer is Liberty Media Holdings, aka Corbin Fisher, the now based Las Vegas-based gay porn production house. The site associated with the domain is not yet live.

ICM does not plan to sell .xxx addresses to regular punters until December. It is currently in the midst of a “sunrise” process that allows reluctant trademark owners to claim or block their brand names in exchange for a fee of about $200.

It has also blocked the names of about 4,300 famous people from the domain.

The Founders Program saw ICM sell or otherwise allocate about 1,500 .xxx names to 35 companies, raising over $4m. The first to go live, back in August, was casting.xxx.

According to ICM, nine of these domains sold for over $100,000 each.

The previous top price for an address in pre-launch extension is believed to be the $350,000 that Overstock.com paid the Colombian .co registry for o.co in June 2010. Overstock is in the process of making O.co its primary brand name.

Before that, flowers.mobi sold to a domain investor for $250,000 in 2005, a purchase widely considered to have been an enormous mistake.

Porn addresses selling for big money are not without precedent. The most expensive domain name sale of all time is widely believed to be sex.com, which sold for $13m last year.

According to the Corbin Fisher website, the company is a member of the Californian porn trade group the Free Speech Coalition, which has been ICM’s most outspoken opponent.

The FSC lobbied against the approval by ICANN of .xxx for years until March this year, and has since called for a member boycott of the extension.

As well as being concerned about the high price of .xxx names (roughly $100 a year) ICANN continues to fear that having a dedicated porn-only domain is an invitation for censorious governments to mandate or block it.

ICM plans to auction more .xxx domains at domain investor conferences and other venues over the coming weeks. A “landrush” phase – which will enable anyone to take a shot at a “premium” address – will kick off in November.

Treasure Island Media a San Francisco based bareback studio owned and operated by its founder, Paul Morris once again finds themselves banned from Sunday’s Folsom Street Fair. The ban is not exactly for barebacking but for having had actual sex acts inside their booths at past Folsom Street Fair.

Since 2009, Treasure Island has been banned from participating in the Folsom Street Fair, Dore Alley and even Chicago’s International Mr. Leather events.

In addition to these event prohibitions, the studio caused a commotion in 2007, when it won Best United States Studio at the DAVID Awards in Berlin. In protest of a bareback company being so honored, the Lifetime Achievement Winner that year (Bruce Cam of Titan Media) declined his award.

The GAYVN Awards—continues to bar Treasure Island Media production’s from eligibility as well as other productions depicting unsafe sex practice.

In December 2010, the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) fined Treasure Island Media for exposing employees (i.e. the models) to “semen and other potentially infectious materials”. An administrative appeal has been filed and no resoultion to that appeal has been issued to date. The fine was $21,000.00.

These bans, fines and criticisms haven’t slowed down Treasure Island Media, the studio erected this sign onto the front of their office (351 9th Street, San Francisco) and are also hosting a series of before-n-after parties throughout the Folsom Fair Season.

Folsom Street Events Executive Director Demetri Moshoyannis was clearly annoyed when asked about the ban, telling the Bay Area Reporter that covering the 86′ing is “lame” and “I don’t think it’s news.”

They haven’t been allowed back to the fair for several years now, because they refuse to follow our exhibitor guidelines,” Moshoyannis said. “It’s as simple as that.” He estimated the porn company’s been banned for at least three years.

He said the blacklisting has “nothing to do with the fact they’re a bareback porn company,” and explained that exhibitors aren’t supposed to allow sex in their booth spaces.

Moshoyannis said he doesn’t want the fair jeopardized, apparently afraid of actions the city might take if rules on public sex are broken.

“Just don’t get the fair in trouble,” Moshoyannis said. “I don’t want to see the community suffer because of a bunch of idiots.” The fair raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for nonprofits.

Treasure Island was asked repeatedly to stop violating the sex policy before they were kicked out, Moshoyannis said, to no avail.

Unsafe sex in porn has reached a new high. The rise of bareback porn exasperates many who lived through the 1980s and 1990s.

The Internet has vastly increased the availability of porn to what is now a worldwide audience. Many are young people who are exploring their sexuality and seeing gay sex for the first time. Essentially, they rely on porn as a guide to how to have sex rather than reading a sex-education brochure.

Yet barebacking remains a highly debated issue, partly because we feel that barebacking videos encourage the behavior, making it seem commonplace and desirable.

A California county jury found Gay Porn’s once famous Super-Star, Ryan Idol guilty of Attempted Murder and three other felony charges stemming from a violent altercation on September 5, 2009 with his then, ex-girlfriend.

Marc Anthony Donais, age 45, was convicted of attempted murder, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 for beating his 41- year old girlfriend over the head with a porcelain toilet tank lid.

During the 1990s, gay porn stars didn’t get too much more popular than Ryan Idol. In February 1989, he appeared as the “Man of the Month” centerfold in Playgirl under his birth name Marc Anthony Donais. This appearance launched his modeling career and introduced him to the adult film industry, in which he achieved notoriety and success under the name Ryan Idol.  His titles:  Idol In The Sky (1996), The Road Home (1996), Idol Country (1994), Idol Thoughts (1993), Trade Off (1992), Score 10 (1991), Idol Worship (1991), Idol Eyes (1990).

After retiring to pursue a career in business, writing and acting. He starred in Scent of Rain at the Bailiwick Repertory Theatre in Chicago and Los Angeles’ Tiffany Theatre and in Making Porn Off-Broadway and on tour.

This past May, Ryan Idol  was in dire need of raising funds to maintain his legal defense that he came back into the gay porn scene by making a compensated appearance in West Hollywood. At the end of the night, he even shaved his mustache.

More recently, he started plans on a career as a chef by moving to Sacramento to attend culinary school, according to his girlfriend’s trial testimony.

The prosecution contended that the motive for the attack resulted from a long-standing jealousy on Donais’ part – despite his defense that it was the other way around, she was jealous of him and  he never worried about his girlfriend wanting sex from other men “because ours was so great.”

The victim testified that she first met Donais in Hawaii when she was on vacation and quickly began a sexual affair with him. She said she ended the relationship in 1992 when she found out Donais acted in gay porn films. In mid-2008, the victim testified, she discovered he had become a Broadway actor, and she looked him up in New York City. After renewing their relationship, she said, they drove from the East Coast to California in his recreational vehicle. They lived for a while in the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) in Sacramento before moving into an townhouse. She said the townhouse was purchased by a male lover of Donais’ from New Hampshire who eventually moved in with them. She testified she moved out when she caught them having sex.

A couple days after her departure, she said, she was taking a bath around nine in the evening when Donais knocked on her door. She said she let him in and was returning to her bath when he said, “I came over here to kill you.”

“He just grabbed me like I was nothing, and he picked me up and he threw me into the bathroom. He came in and he started beating me with his fists. … When he took the lid off the toilet … I thought, Oh, my God, I’m not going to live. And I looked down because I didn’t want him to smash it on my face, and he smashed it on my head” 

She said she was able to get some leverage and kick Donais twice, sending him careening into the bathtub. She testified she then ran from the house and called police. Telephone records showed Donais had called her 17 times in four hours before the incident.

Donais testified he’d been playing poker at a nearby cocktail lounge and had one shot of Wild Turkey whiskey before he drove to her place to check up on her. He said he was concerned that she was being manipulated by some drug-dealing friends.

Donais said that after he entered the house, his girlfriend got upset when he accused her of cheating on him. He said she came at him with a knife. He said he grabbed the toilet tank lid and swung it at her to defend himself.

He later showed up at a hospital bleeding from a 1 1/2-inch shard of porcelain jammed into his arm. Hospital officials called police and Donais was arrested and booked on a charge of attempted murder.

Donais who had been free on bail – was jailed immediately after the verdict to await sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled for December. 9, 2011. He faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Founder & Film Director of BelAmi Studios, George Duroy has reported on the member’s forum of his website that 21 year old, Evan Cobb (stage name) took his own life on April 28, 2011.

A gallery of photographs once featured in a March 2006, XY magazine, of Colton Haynes are now being claimed by an attorney representing Haynes … to be “pornography.” The photos depicted Colton Haynes kissing Jerreth Ludwig in a jacuzzi. Colton Haynes was then a model for photographer, Sean Benz.

Benz operates, ModelGuys.com and ModelGuysFeet.com. Sean Benz’s work often found it’s way into Peter Cumming’s now-defunct XY Magazine. XY magazine stopped publication in 2007. Many models photographed by Benz would go on to further their careers, casted as gay porn models.

The complaint by Haynes comes on the eve of the premiere of “Teen Wolf”, which airs on June 5, on MTV. Haynes plays, Jackson in the series.

Jody Wheeler, the administrator of DoorQ.com, got an email Tuesday from Bryan J. Freedman, an attorney who represents the up and coming actor.The email states that DoorQ.com had posted, “private, obscene, lewd and pornographic,” images of Colton Hayes.

I am contacting you regarding [doorQ.com's] postings of multiple private, obscene, lewd and pornographic photographs of my client, privately taken depicting my client partially or possibly completely nude, engaging in or simulating sexual conduct, in most instances with other individuals …   the photographs depict my client partially or possibly fully nude in a Jacuzzi engaging in sexual content with another individual. the Site’s publication of what are clearly private photographs depicting sexual conduct, violate Haynes’ right to privacy. Your public disclosure of these private photographs violate Haynes privacy rights as such conduct qualifies as a (1) public disclosure (2) of a private fact (3) which would be of offensive and objectionable to the reasonable person. While we can only speculate as to where you received these private photographs from, rest assured that you posted them without Haynes consent or knowledge …

Founded in 1993 to serve Atlanta’s gay & lesbian community, Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse is struggling to keep things going and has issued a plea for support. An email to their customers was sent out  expressing concern over the store’s future on Wednesday afternoon. Outwite is located just a few short blocks from GayPornGossip’s Headquarters at the corner of Piedmont & Tenth Street in Midtown, Atlanta.

Outwrite is the most visible GLBT landmark in the city and one of the largest remaining independent bookstores of any kind in the Southeastern United States. B magazine, the creation of former XY magazine editor Peter Ian Cummings and Savas Abadsidis, editor of Abercrombie and Fitch’s A and F Quarterly, will publish its inaugural issue in June. The magazine, which is aimed at gay men ages 18-35, promises to feature articles about politics, art, music and fashion.

The tagline for B is, “A magazine for the future.” Visitors to the magazine’s web site – www.bmag.us – which features an astral background and funky graphics, will see a different approach to gay media. Cummings and Abadsidis are also launching All American Guys, a magazine featuring erotic but G-rated photos of hunky male models.

Cummings says he is hoping for a diverse readership for B. “It’s more about a way of thinking than a certain demographic,” Cummings said. “We’re trying to represent a wide section of America.”

Cummings laments what he refers to as the “self-congratulatory nature in gay life now. There’s not enough thinking going on. We want to stand up for the right to express yourself sexually.”

Cummings believes the gay movement emphasizes sexual repression instead of the freedom to be who you are, without apologies. A lot of people don’t want gay marriage, he notes.

“We reject that as a compromise,” Cummings said, explaining he does not fear criticism from members of the LGBT community. “If they want to call us porny or slutty, let them.”

B magazine will give a voice to ordinary folks, in the same way XY provided a forum for gay teens to express themselves in print, he said.

XY was founded by Cummings in 1996 and stopped publication in 2007. The magazine contained political and cultural articles, pictures and submissions by readers.

B promises to be similar in tone and style, yet will feature celebrity interviews. However, Cummings notes that the magazine will not be dominated by them.

The staff for B includes editor at large Nathan Smorynski; Brandon Alexander, a former XY editor; Keith Carr, who serves as associate publisher; Eriq Chang, who served as the original fashion and photo editor at XY; Kenshi Westover, an artist, stylist, and correspondent; photographer Steven Underhill, who shot several XY covers; and James Patrick Dawson, who also photographed for XY.

Cummings believes the death of gay media has been exaggerated. He is confident B can succeed, pointing to the fact that the magazine has 3,000 fans on Facebook.

“There is a tremendous market for the ideas involved,” Cummings said, adding his staff of writers and editors are a draw for readers. “We’re all pretty well known and we all have our own followers.”

Cummings hopes to use different types of paper in the production of B. It’s this unique aesthetic that will distinguish B from competitors, he said.

“We’re going to make the magazine a beautiful item that people want to own,” Cummings noted.

Cummings doesn’t want to put out B on a more frequent basis, due to the intense pressures of publishing monthly. B will distribute 20,000 copies quarterly. Numbers may expand, depending on the reader reception.
